Furious Filmmaking

Last night the 48Hours finals were on C4. Friday work drinks extended and a few of us stayed on to check out the talent on the biggest tv screen in Grey Lynn. (It is so.) The national winner was 'Brown Peril: The Tim Porch Story', documenting a Tongan badminton player who aspires to be champion. Now, who could that be? It was both hilarious and brilliant - not surprising, since it stars Josh Thomson. The finalists should all be available for viewing at nzshortfilm.com before too long - take a look.

So it was a festive night: from work to Galatos, party on Custom St, Pony and then Crowbar. I gave my card to some random at Crow. Who does that?! I mean, to a total stranger?

Following some scoping of the press response to the Phoenix Foundation following their New York shows, I've become a regular visitor to both The Modern Age and The Music Slut. Check 'em out. And while you're at it, take a look at Indietits, too.
