Waipara

It was a very busy weekend. They're a scarce commodity at the moment. More soon.

Waipara over near Dannevirke way (sorry, am vague on geography)? You know, that's where our Momma was born and lived. She was a primary teacher and used to ride a horse to school. Is this where you are?

It's nice to see that it hasn't gone all wineries and developments since we stayed there in '98.

Hope you are recoverin'.

I am almost recovered! In time for this weekend's travels - to New Plymouth and Katikati.

Katy, are you thinking of Waipawa?

Um, doh, probably, Waipara/Waipawa, is there really a difference? (Thus demonstrating how CRAP I am at geography and also how crap I am generally.) I did think you had covered a lot of ground from Queenstown-ish to near Dannevirke-ish since your last post... Katy

There is no Waipara over near Dannevirke. And in fact, Waipawa isn't really near Dannevirke either.

Case in point - Waipawa is in Central Hawkes Bay. Whereas (despite misconceptions) Dannevirke is in Southern Hawkes Bay.

I know many more facts about Waipawa and its surrounds, but I don't think anybody needs me to share them ;-)

Jessie does take fantastic pictures. Maybe she has a polarising lens? One of my old cameras had one, an the skies always seemed bluer. Or maybe that's just nostalgia for a camera with film :)
