BDO crush #2, revisited
When I was in Wellington, either in Real Groovy or in Slow Boat, I spotted a Dirtbombs album. Imagine my surprise to see one of my BDO crushes on the cover! (I had about 5; no results ;) Turns out that Ben, the cuuuute blonde who was one of the White Stripes elite (ie dressed in black suit and tie with red shirt and a little red feather in his black fedora) is the drummer in the Dirtbombs, which means he must be the Ben Blackwell that I read about in the (decidedly average) White Stripes bio, 'Sweethearts of the Blues' by Denise Sullivan. And has a record label. More insights here. I'm nothing if not thorough.
I like finding out they're famous afterwards. I think it makes the crush more authentic, and me less of a (wannabe) starfucker. (That's a joke.) (No, it really is.)
Also: the Elliott Smith obsession continues... I have 'Angeles' and 'I Better Be Quiet Now' on repeat in my head.. if you're wondering wtf?! you can hear some of his stuff here.

Try having Mr Ben Blackwell, followed by Mr Troy Ferguson, walk past you.. I actually buckled at the knees and had to sit down on the ledge behind me.
I enjoy Elliot Smith also. And I have no idea who Ben Blackwell is but your description makes him sound hot.

perhaps I should have specified that down to 'try being me, the hopeless swooner that I am, and having..' them walk past. Dear me.
