There's one in the picture

The Arcade Fire's new album Neon Bible has debuted at number 2 on the US Billboard chart and on the UK chart too. Talk about a hyped album - can the wave created by Funeral (which peaked at #131) continue to build? I've only heard the odd track on the radio. Maybe I can fit in a quick dash to Real Groovy tomorrow. Also, the Besnard Lakes. Guitar solo! (Thanks Wayne.)

Call ahead before you go to buy it - they've sold out in Welly.

Funeral and the EP were SO good. A second album was always gonna be dubious... The new songs I saw live were...good. But not mindblowing. I'm almost scared to get a copy of Neon Bible!

That said, I still have yet to buy Interpol's second album because the debut was so blindingly good.

Okay, now shall I buy the Grinderman album too? I still don't actually own any Nick Cave albums, oh the shame. However I do have Songs That Inspired Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, vols 1 and 2. (They're great!)

On an unrelated note, some of us were scanning your flickr pics and were wondering if you have a headphones-on-animals fettish. You'll also have to let me know how the arcade fire album goes. Looking at your listen-to-queue, I think I can trust your opinion.

YOU my friend win the award for 2007's most obscure comment! My animals don't wear headphones. They have micro chip implants.

When you get it flick through the pages and you'll see one of those old school animation thingys.
something you don't get when downloading through iTunes (though you do get the sleeve notes as a pdf apprently)
