Whale Bay
I'm not one to turn down an adventure, even when the object is total relaxation, and it's always fun to get out of the city. So, when the option came up, it didn't take much to convince me to go hang out in Raglan this weekend.
I'd only visited the area once before, for Soundsplash 05, so it was good to hang out a bit and get a feel for the place. More photos here.
In spite of or because of all the relaxing, I've been weirdly clumsy today - this morning I walked straight into a glass door, and then later I mangled my ankle jumping on some rocks. I am in pain.
Before I forget, again, two shining moments in NZ culture that I must comment on:

- I went to see the Case of Katherine Mansfield at the Herald Theatre week or two back. Fantastic. Mansfield is inspiring - but that goes without saying - and Danielle Cormack pulled it off impeccably. It's finished now.
- Shapeshifter's new album, Soulstice. It's really good and I'm pleased to say it's making me like drum n bass again! (I never thought that could happen.)

Gorgeous pictures of your weekend jaunts!
Glad to hear about the Case of Katherine Mansfield.
I know of Danielle Cormack and (director) Katie Wolfe from the various short films they did in the 1990s. It's good to see that they are still working. I reckon it's hard to be an artist in NZ. Good to see that KM's art is being kept alive, too.
Thanks Trish! Are you a member of flickr? If so you should add me so I can 'friend' you.
Done. The only pics we've got up at the mo' are of my mother in law's house. We're trying to rent it out for her and Flickr was the easiest place to post pictures. Cheers!
Cool! Disturbing and enlightening insights await ;)
